"An important aspect of jazz is improvisation. Improvisation is basically soloing, which is creating your own melodies, basically based around chord changes and based off of the melody of the song you are playing. So, say there's a melody, goes something like this. And the chord changes are A minor, D seven, G major, seven, C seven, just that much. So we know our first, the first part of the melody is (playing) and that all happens over the A minor seven. So we can, if we want to base our first part of our solo around here we can embellish around this. And then we go, this also is happening over D seven. "
