"So now we are going to take a look at our B major scale. We are going to show a visual feel first you start right here on the 3rd dot which is also the 7th fret. Then we go back to a fret to the 2nd dot so the 7th fret to the 4th fret, 6 fret, 7th fret. The notes below it is the same pattern 4,6,7,4,6,7 and then our top 2 pattern is 4,6,8. So you want to start you can start with your index finger here. You really want to get this pattern under your fingers cause we are going to utilize this pattern through the whole entire segment. So you would have that 3 frets, skip a fret, next fret, back 3 frets, skip a fret, skip a fret, skip a fret, skip a fret. So you really want to get this under your fingers and really memorize the pattern. Again where you start does not really matter. First you can start with your index finger you can do the same scale here or you can do it way up here. The whole pattern is movable and that is the beautiful thing about the bass. You can just learn one pattern and utilize it and utilize all the information that you can get out of that scale pattern and just run it up and down the fret board."
