"RYAN LARSON: Now, we're going to take a look at the tab. Notice we have our four strings written here, from the top string to the low string. And we started here on the 2nd string, 6th fret, right? Six-8-10-6-8-10, right? 1-2-3-4-5-6. And I put a square around the root again so you could really reference it and I shaded it in. And then we went down, we went 10-8-6-9-8-6 and that was 1-7-6-5-4-3-2. So, you wanna, at home, write this down, write down the tab, the four strings and all the fret markings and you want to mark them from 1-10 as well or if you just want to mark off 1 and 5 and you can just use it as a reference so then when you go through to analyze pieces, you can be like, "Oh, it's a 5th. All right. So, 1-7-6-5." "All right, 6th fret." And you know how to find the root to everything. So, really write down this information and then we're going to go through and show you the alphabetical name for each one of the notes out of the scale."
