"RYAN LARSON: So now we're going to take a visual look of how it looks written out in tab, which you'll see a lot if you're doing some explorations on the Internet. And now you'd be able to figure out what the tab actually is as compared to the scale. So we start right here. Here are your four strings, right? Four lines, four strings. Here's our lowest string which we are doing right now. We start on the second string right here. 0-0-2-4 then you got 0-2-4 on the next string and then 1-2. So 0-2-4-0-2-4-1-2. And if we go through it in number we have 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-1. So that's your major scale: 1-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-1. So it's a different set of numbers than the tab, but the tab is just indicating the fret, 0-2-4-0-2-4-1-2. So we're going to through and take this pattern and really embed it into your mind so you can get an idea how to move around on the bass in A major."
