"Now, we're going to take and learn our Bebop scale, so we have our regular seven note scale, right. Now Bebop musicians are doing all of these fast runs and all of these quick notes, but they have an odd number scale. So it kind of messes around with things, so what they do is they take notes in between the scale and use them as passing tones to get an even number scale; or an eight note scale. So notice that I'm going to play this half note. Now, I play this one, now you can use the flat nine. So now when I add that with my left hand chord. That's your G flat Bebop scale in your right hand."
