"Now we're going to take a look at our F#7th chord. And our 7th chords are derived from the 5th note or 5th degree of the D major scale. So if you count out, one, two, three, four, five, you land on F# here and this becomes our new one. We have one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, one. So now we play one, three, five and seven and we get this. That's your F#7th chord. Then all these chords can be played inverted, so I can go, one, three, five, seven. I can go three, five, seven, one. Or five, seven, one, three. And so on, as long as I'm outlining those same notes, it sounds gorgeous. So now we have our three basic chord sound and we can play what's called the two-five, where I go from two, C#minor to our five, F#7th, to our one major. Two minor, F7, B major, two, five-seven. And you'll notice, I'm playing two regularly, and my 7 chord I put in an inversion so I have a one, three, five, seven, and then I play my B major regular. Two, five, one, very easy, simple, and very useful for you to get under your fingers."
