"The first chord we're going to take a look at is our B flat major chord. It's a nice, simple, easy scale and we're going to take this scale and show you and find all of the different chords that we're going to get out of today's lesson right now. If you take a look at the piano, we start here on B flat, right here on top of the group of three black notes. B flat, C, D, E flat, F, G, A, B flat-- that's your B flat major scale. You really want to write that down and get it under your fingers. To find our chords, we are going to number the scale 1-7: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. We are now going to play what is called a block chord which is 1, 3, 5, and 7. That's your B major black chord. You can move the seven down to a six too; it sounds nice. B flat major 7. There's a B flat six. You can doodle around with the scale up here too if you want. We'll also show you some stride where you go root, chord, then you hit the 5th note of the scale, and then the chord: root, chord, fifth, chord, root chord. So, some nice, simple ideas underlying our first chord (our B flat 7 chord). We're going to show you how to find our next three chords using the same scale in just a minute."
