"So, we are going to look at our next couple of measures here. We started off with this A chord in our left hand, and you see it keeps going for the next four measures. Very typical of the blues, you have your one chord for four measures, A for four measures, and then we have our melody here... our 4#-5- 4# and then we have this little counter melody and then we notice we go right back to our original melody again, very stereotypical of the blues (plays). That's called a "call and response," where you have your original motif here and then you have an alternate motif here and then you go back to your original motif. It is a very simple compositional idea which has been used for centuries and it is a really good idea to have just a main thing which you keep coming back to and it really helps unite the song and give the song that flavor that everybody really recognizes and it really give it that distinguishing sound. So we're going to play that again (plays). That's your first four measures of Accordion Lovers Blues."
