Summary: This article will show you how you can disable annoying windows startup sound in Windows Vista. This is the series of articles (with video tutorials), I am writing to get acquainted with Microsoft Vista. If you have recently switched to Windows Vista, you may immediately notice the difference in the way in which Vista operates. Many of the windows features are the same, but many are changed or replaced. This video tutorials are designed to get to know the basic features in Vista. They are fairly simple, and by no means meant for advanced users.These videos does not contain audio.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Right click on blank area of desktop. And go to personalize.

  2. Step 2

    Go to 'Sounds'.

  3. Step 3

    Click on 'Sounds' tab.

  4. Step 4

    From 'Sound Scheme:', select 'No Sounds'.

  5. Step 5

    Click OK. (This will disable set of sounds which are played when different events are performed, like mouse click, opening or closing of programs, maximize or minimize windows.) Apparently, you can just disable the startup sound, while keeping others, by unchecking 'Play Windows Startup Sounds'.

    This does not disable audio. You can still play different audio & videos.
