"Now we are going to take a look at our D flat harmonic minor scale. So, if we look on paper we have our D flat scale here. Remember 5 flats, the 5 is right here it should be a little higher. So we start right here on D flat, D flat, E flat, 1, 2 and then we have a E natural which is our flat 3 cause it is minor we have a flat 3 in there. Then you have a G flat 4th, A flat is your 5th and then you have this A natural which is your flat 6 which goes to the C. So you have your natural 7 and a flat 6 here and you can see the gap they are written and when you hear that played it really gives it this unique quality to the scale. So we are going to go through and play the actual scale for you so you have D flat1,2, minor 3rd,4,5 and then you have this 6 natural,7 and see I just get 2 notes in there. It is really characteristic. Another cool thing is you got your minor 3rd and your 7 together which gives it yet another pull and hear that all at once. Go the the 1 major, we are going to stay here on the minor. That is your harmonic minor scale in important notes you have your major 7 and flat 6 here, that is harmonic minor. "
