Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Copy the files onto a standard 3.5-inch, 1.44 MB floppy disk; Zip disk; Jaz disk; Imation SuperDisk; or recordable CD. Choose a disk the other computer can use.

  2. Step 2

If both computers are connected to a network, copy files directly to the other person's computer, provided you have the appropriate access privileges.

  3. Step 3

You can also create a new folder on a network file server, then transfer the files to that folder. The recipient can then copy the files to his or her hard disk. (This method is useful when you want to make documents available for many people on a network.)

  4. Step 4

Connect two Windows 95 or 98 computers using a serial cable, then open the Start menu and choose Programs, then Accessories, Communications, and Direct Cable Connection. Set up one computer as the host (the one with files you want to transfer) and one computer as the guest (the computer that will receive the transferred files).

  5. Step 5

Send the files as an e-mail attachment. (See the Related eHow "How to Send an E-Mail Attachment.")
