Step 1
The best way to determine the points on your eyebrow is to compare your nose to the iris of your eye and to the end of the your eye. Take a ruler or comb and starting at your nose, point the rule straight up and that will tell you where your eyebrows should begin. Make a mark with the brow pencil.
Then hold the ruler from your nose to your iris. This will determine where your arch should be. Mark your brow. Do the same from your nose to the end of your eye. That marks the end of the brow. Fill in your eyebrows using these marks. -
Step 2
Spray alcohol on your tweezers to make sure they are extremely clean.
-
Step 3
Pulling the skin taut, at the outer end of the eyebrow, against the brow bone. Pluck the hairs out in the direction they’re growing in.
-
Step 4
Brush the hairs up and then comb them by following the eyebrow's shape that you made. You can use a brow gel to hold them in place if you need to.
-
Step 5
Use a cotton ball or pad soaked in pure tea tree oil or witch hazel to soothe your tweezed brows.

on 8/13/2008 I agree with cmbbb, also you shouldnt color the brow in for a start, this will disguise hair that needs to be "tweezed", if anything, you should color the brows AFTER tweezing by brow tinting. A bit hipacritical also with alchoholing the tweezers,, yet you use a "comb" right beside the nostrils. If it was used, people would be smelling the scalp of the last 1000 people who used it. And finally-YOU PLUCK A CHICKEN & YOU TWEEZE YOUR EYEBROWS. I dont know where you got your training done but its terrible. You would need alot of fine tuning before I decided to have you as an employee of mine.

on 1/8/2008 This was absolutely unhelpful, especially the part "I'm just going to fill in what I think your brow should look like." Oh, thanks! You're a professional stylist! It would be nice if you DESCRIBED what a good brow looked like and what an "arch" should look like.

on 8/8/2006 If it's your first time tweezing your eyebrows, and you don't have anything to guide you, take your eye pencil and go from the edge part of your eye (closest to your nose) and slightly diagonally up to the inside of your face. You don't want your eyes to look longer than your eyebrows.

on 6/30/2006 If you add a bit of Bonjela to the stray hairs, it makes that area numb and it doesn't hurt when you pluck them.

on 6/30/2006 If you have a Mary Kay lady, order the soothing eye gel (or go to their website). After tweezing (not plucking) your eyebrows, dab on a tiny bit of the eye gel on the brow bone with a Q-tip. It works!
