So now we are going to go over Aeolian which is our 6th mode, 6th degree of the scale. So C is 6th degree of E flat major. Do E flat major 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 so that is our basic pattern. So just like our minor pattern but we have this flat 6 in there now. Aeolian is not usually used when you play a minor chord because you can hear it has that crunch in there where if you use the Dorian mode it is much more where you don't have to avoid that 8 flat or flat 6 in there. But then again melodically it sounds very nice. So you might want to keep Aeolian in mind when you are improvising a minor chord but we are going to write it out for you. We are in the key of E flat major now, so we have a B flat, E flat and a A flat. So you have a 1, 2, flat 3, 4, 5, flat 6, flat 7. So a nice simple scale and it has some nice melodic qualities. Again, it doesn't work as good chorally but when you match that up with Dorian, it sounds beautiful. And that is C Aeolian.
