" Hi guys! I'm Philip and I am going to explain to you how to set up a drum set. This is a cymbal stand right here; this is a boom cymbal stand, because this arm right here is called a boom, and a lot of symbol stands will come just straight up. You extend it straight up and the cymbals sit on top. This allows for more movement and more positioning, so you can put the stand here and have the cymbal sitting over here. So I am going to show you how to set this up. First there are little tightening things all over them, and so when you are setting them up, you are going to loosen the ones for the tripod at the bottom. So loosen it up and extend the tripod and it will stand up on its own. Now the width of the tripod, or the width of this, just depends on what symbol you are going to put on. If you are going to put a big cymbal, you want to put it really wide. Basically you want to take up as little space as possible, because when you get a lot of stands, they all criss cross and take up a lot of room. But then to adjust tight, all you do is start loosening these, lift, tighten, loosen, lift, tighten and so forth, and you come up here and you can just adjust where you want this, how long you want it. They are really simple and if you don't understand what I am doing, they are not hard to figure out. You can just look at it and then right here is the angle adjustment for your cymbal. You just loosen the thing again and it will tell you like my cymbal will be vertical straight up and down right here. It will be horizontal flat, right here, and you normally want to set it at a 45 degree angle but we will go over that later. So that is a boom cymbal stand. "
