This is a standard A-shaped mandolin with a pickup. The pickup in this instrument is a magnetic style pickup similar to that used in electric guitars. This instrument also features a volume and a tone control in order to adjust the sound to the players' liking. The fitting that goes here is where you would plug a cable in to send a signal to an amplifier or a recording console, wherever you needed it to go. It, like other mandolins, is tuned exactly like a violin. It has double string sets tuned in unison, and this instrument, being a more affordable instrument, has open framed tuners on the back that do a good job, but they're not as nice as the die cast and closed used on much higher cost instruments. For the average player, this offers a good instrument at a reasonable price. This is an A-shaped mandolin.
