On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Rodney Lopez and this is my lovely partner Amelia Maldonado. We're here at Dance Manhattan Studios here in New York City, and today we're going to teach you the merengue. If we had the 'he goes she goes' to this, we can sort of keep doing this in lots of different combinations. For instance, if we started with that breakaway, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, and wrap her to the right and bring her back, and then wrap her to the left, and bring her back, we can give her an underarm turn right away. Then turn yourself under the bridge gentlemen, then go back to a breakaway, and then come back to closed position. You can see how almost like Lego blocks, it's very easy to put a lot of these combinations together. They don't have to go in that specific order that we showed you earlier. You can mix and match them with very simple footwork. You don't have to worry so much about traveling. Most of this movement is in place, so feel free to experiment and play around with it.
