"On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Rodney Lopez and this is my lovely partner Amelia Maldonado. We're here at Dance Manhattan Studios here in New York City, and today we're going to teach you the merengue. Let's just put these 2 wrap turns together. We'll wrap up to the right, we'll do a basic step in place, and then we'll wrap her up to the left. Starting with a basic step in place, we're going to go 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, in place, 2, 3, 4, bring her back, 3, 4, in place, 2, 3, 4, wrap her up to the left, and 1, 2, 3, 4, and bring her back to open, 1, 2, 3, 4. That's just a basic combination that you can practice on your own with your partner just to get used to wrapping to the right and wrapping to the left. However, make sure that every time you're doing these turns, you're stepping in place. 1, 2, 3, 4, keeping your footwork in time with the music."
