"On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Rodney Lopez and this is my lovely partner Amelia Maldonado. We're here at Dance Manhattan Studios here in New York City, and today we're going to teach you the merengue. The footwork for that wrap is the same as the footwork for your basic. Except this time ladies, instead of doing 4 counts to go a full circle, you're doing 4 counts to go halfway. Gentlemen, you're still going to step 4 steps in place. Gentlemen, you're going to do your basic time step while the lady does 4 steps to do a half right turn. 1, 2, 3, 4. Now, once you're here, you can take 4 steps in place together. Ladies, starting your right foot. Gentlemen, starting with your left foot. 1, 2, 3, 4. If you choose, you can stay here for longer, but she probably wants to get out of this position. Bring her back by raising your right hand coming back to the open position. 1, 2, 3, 4. I wrapped her up with my right hand and unwrapped her with my right."
