We're here at Dance Manhattan Studios here in New York City, and today we're going to teach you the merengue. Gentlemen, you're going to start with your left foot. You always start with your left foot. Ladies will start with their right foot. The first thing you want to do is just get the basic rhythm. Rhythm in merengue is 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4. You just want to get used to marching in place first. We're just going to go 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 1, 2, 3, 4. You're just going to shift your weight in even time. Just left, right, left, right. While ladies, you're stepping in place, right, left, right, left.
