"Hi, my name is Paul Becker and I'm going to talk to you today about playing the blues on the piano, some beginner intermediate even advanced information about the blues and I'm doing this for Expert Village. In this segment I'll show you a little bit about how to build a solo not so much from individual licks but maybe how to work off of the chords, so you might be looking a chord this way. You're playing a basic chord but you can add just a few notes around it to make a solo so here's a basic chord. (playing piano) So this is another way of thinking how to build in a way to the same place but from this case you're building away from the chord rather than from the licks, such as the flatted 3rd or the flatted 5th.
