"Hello! This is Paul Louis from Puppets n’ Stuff puppets. You can find us on the worldwide web at www.puppetsnstuff.com. Now I do not have my puppet here with me right this second because I want to talk a little bit about working with television monitors or video monitors. When you are working on a television or a film project…most of the time when you are doing these types of projects, the only way that you could see your performance is through a little video monitor while you are manipulating the puppet. Now that is very important to be familiar with the types of monitors that are out there. Most of the monitors that are out there for these types of productions will allow you to see the puppet opposite of what you are doing. So it is not the same as looking in a mirror. Basically, when you are going right, you are going to notice that your puppet is going left; and if you are going left, you are going to notice that your puppet is going right. So this could be a little confusing and tricky. And I would advise you, to get used to that type of set up, is to set up a video camera, plug in the video camera to a monitor in your living room or in your room or whatever, and start practicing. If you don’t have a video monitor or a video camera, you can get a couple of mirrors and set them up in a way so that the mirror is showing the reflection of the mirror. I know it sounds confusing, but once you get two mirrors together and put them like this and like this, you will notice that one of the reflections will be going opposite of what you do. Now some monitors do go the same direction that you are going, but 99.9% of the time the monitors are going to be opposite of what you are doing. So keep practicing; it is a little bit tricky, but I promise you will get a good practice. Okay? We will be right back."
