"One other piece of equipment that you would want to have on hand is a music stand. Now, a music stand allows you to keep whatever you're working on, if you're reading music or maybe you're practicing something. It allows it to keep it right in front of you, so that you don't have to put music on your leg, or on your bed, or on the ground. It increases the posture that you've got as well. It improves the posture because you're not hunched over looking at something down, you can sit straight up and look straight ahead of you while reading music. Now, we'll talk about posture later, it is very important. Now, in this case, this is a typical wire music stand. You don't need to spend forty dollars on a big black sturdy music stand unless you're playing shows or you really like how it looks in your room. This is like most, adjustable. You can release the clasp down here, to raise and lower it and then tighten it back up. And, this down here, is for the legs, it allows you to release the legs so that you can fold it up smaller and put it away when you're done, then it locks back into place. It also has features up here that allow you to extend the width of the music stand, so if you have several pieces of paper, you can fold this little piece of wire down, so that you can move something closer to the edge without it falling off."
