    What you're playing there is more commonly known as a steppa groove. Listen to Sly Dunbars drumming on Private lives by Grace Jones, it's that kind of groove. One drop (as I thought the name may have suggested) is where the bass drum is omitted on beat one, not what you have said on the vid, where did you get that from? This is the problem with the internet. If you put yourself out there as an 'expert', make sure you are. I'm not and I know more about this subject then you clearly do. I bet Carlton Barrett and Roy Shirley are doing somersaults in their graves.....

    You really need to listen to some reggae. You have absolutely no groove in this style.
