"Okay so we're going to take quarter notes, and put them into groups of three. One, two, three, one, two, three. We're going to play the snare on beats one and two. One, two, three. Three. Three. Three. Piece of cake. And by now you already I'm sure, are quite familiar with the swing ride pattern. One, two, three, four. So let's combine these. One, two, three, four. If you're having trouble with this, I suggest that you take each snare one hit at a time. So let's just start out with the first two, alright? Let's add the next set of two. And so on and so forth."
