"PETER VAN DYCK: I'm going to show you some singles, some doubles, some triples and quadruples. And what I mean by this is how we alternate our hands hitting the snare drum or any drum for that matter. Singles alternate every stroke: right, left, right, left, right, left and so on and so fort. Doubles, you play two strokes and then you alternate hands. And as we work on those more, we can play them faster. Triples are when we play three strokes a hand: one, two, three, one, two, three. And of course, quadruples, my favorite, are fours."
