"PETER VAN DYCK: We're going to look at match grip. Now, this is holding the sticks symmetrically with both hands. Now, let's take a look at how we make this happen. A match grip is made of a fulcrum where we pinch the stick between our thumb and pointer finger about three quarters way down the stick. Next, we wrap our fingers around the stick. And that's match grip. Do the same thing with the other hand. Here we go. Now, we want to squeeze the sticks with our thumb and pointer, mostly. The rest of the fingers should be pretty relaxed. We don't want to feel any tension all the way--anywhere in our arm. This is match grip."
