"Ok, so we're going to try, and there's no try, only do, we're going to do groupings of three and playing the bass drum on the first of each of these three. So let's count this out and get a better idea, and a better concept of playing in three. (counting) 123,123. right, cake. Now on each one were going to play the bass drum (counting)123,123,123. The trick here is that we want to play the swing ride pattern on the ride symbol, two and four on the high hat. I'll demonstrate combining these two times to make cross meter. Notice that every other time playing the bass drum in this cross meter it will line up with the click of the hi hat, and every other time besides that it won?t. Let me show you. (counting) 1234."
