" For expertvillage.com this is Mitch Kaplan. In this clip we will be talking about flutter tonguing. Flutter tonguing is the vibration of your tongue literally, and you move it up and down rapidly and you will get a different type of effect. You do not want to use it all the time, because it begins to sound like a very old movie. As you can see, it is one of those wild effects that could very easily get very old very quick. Here we go one more time. A reason why you would use flutter tonguing could be in a jazz improv, and so you can use it while you are as an effect to offset something. And there you go. "
