"On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Nathan Bugh and with me is my talented student, Shannon Sheroney. We're here at Dance Manhattan Studios in New York City, to teach you about Bolboa and other swing era dances. For the six count swing basic, we're going to use a step that we've already learned: the rock step. You might remember from the Charleston, we're also going to use just single steps, like when you practiced bouncing. The six count basic has one rock step and two slow single steps, for single time six count swing. The leader starts with a rock step on the left foot and the follower starts with a rock step on the right foot, like this...here we go. Rock step, then you each takes a single step to the side; step, and then step with the other foot. In rhythm, it looks like this. A five, six, and here we go. Rock, step step, step, a rock, step step, step, a rock, step step, step."
