"My name is Niall O'Leary from the Niall O'Leary School of Irish Dance in New York City and today I'm demonstrating beginner soft shoe Irish dance. The next move is called the rock. This move it involves locking your ankles together and going from side to side using your ankles. So I'm going to take away my left foot, I'm going to bring it behind the right foot, I'm going to lock my ankles and go from side to side like this. So one ankle is pushing the other, I'm rocking from one big toe to the other big toe. So watch again your here and you go rock, rock, rock, rock, rock, rock so you can see that I can keep going as long as I'm keeping my center of gravity over my toes that I'm going to one side to the other and that rocking my ankles. This is not a good rock, this is a good rock. So it all about locking your ankles and keeping your balance."
