"In this clip, we're going to talk about some of the costumes that you might encounter when you see Manipuri dance. A lot of people, when they think of Manipuri dance, think of those big barrel skirts that the ladies wear for Raas Lila. That's a development of the classical style of Raas Lila. However, this what I'm wearing now, is maybe more, a little bit more traditional. What you would see, ladies wear, maybe to a party, on the street. This skirt here is called the Phanek. It's kind of like your basic Sarong. It wraps around this way. Then I'm just wearing an Indian Sari blouse. It's what was come to be the regular blouse that women wear in Manipur. And then this cloth is very special to Manipur. It's called the Innaphi. And now the Innaphi is woven by the women of Manipur. It's a woman's industry. That they weave these cloths as part to gain some incoming stuff. In Raas Lila, there's also men wearing regular Dhotis. You might see in other forms of Indian dance, which are the wrapping pants that come up the back."
