"PAT LOUIS: On behalf Expert Village, I'm Pat Louis in Miami, Florida. And today, I'm going to show you some basic drum rhythms. The snare. Ah the snare. The snare is the king of rock songs whenever you're playing either on the high hat. You've got to have two and four on the snare. one, two, three, four. We put the snare on and that really go sounds like this. one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four. So these two and four are the backbeats. Also, when you're just playing something with brushes very, very calm and soft your bass drum and high hat are actually doing the two and four. So this is one, two, three, four. Brushes actually would come into play, and you'd be actually playing them with a very large pallet and it sound something like this. One, two, three, four. And that's how it would sound in a very large pallet."
