my name is Pat Louis. Here in Miami I'm going to show you today how to set up a drum kit. Drummers have a love for the kind of sticks that they use some people love those real fat ones if they are playing rock. Others play very lightly so they want something lighter, there is different kinds of sticks. The wooden sticks are the classic standard it's wood all the way and with a little nubs on the ends so it gives you a place to actually hit and give you a nice sound. There are those that come with wooden sticks that are actually with a plastic tip this gives you a little sharper sound because they are plastic and a little more ridged. They won't chip if you happen to hit the side of the thing, it gives you a little bit of a lighter sound. Now there are actually hollow metal sticks these are good for jazz because they have a nice sharp sound when you are doing something of this nature. Cause everything is very very light and even when you hit these they are not very loud. Of course the other thing is brushes, brushes are a whole personality onto them selves. Brushes are used primarily for lush pallets when you hear that some one is doing that rainy day one of those types of things. You can also do other things with these types of brushes.
