Explanation of the Reverse Card Magic Trick

" Hi! Malik the magic guy with expertvillage.com. Now I want to teach you how to do that trick we just saw the reversed card. Now if you haven’t watched the stuff before this, you’re going to want to watch the stuff about holding the deck and all that. But here’s the basic secret to the reverse card…what you need is one card reversed on the bottom of the deck; this is your sneaky secret preparation. And what I did to be a little extra sneaky was I started with the cards in the box and I remembered which way was up, and you can use the little cutout here to remember that’s the right way up. Then I spread through the cards making sure not to show that the bottom card was reversed, and I’ll talk more about how to spread the cards in your hands a little later. We had Mr. Hand come in and grab a card, and while he was showing it to you guys I flipped the deck over just like this, so now what we have is the deck face up with one faced down card on top. And then I had Mr. Hand push his card back in the deck, and as I was moving the box across the table I turned the deck over again, so now we have this situation right here with the card, it’s reversed again on the bottom. But now what is happened is Mr. Hand actually put his card in the deck for us upside down and he just didn’t know it, so he actually did the trick for us. So now what we need to do is go through again, being very careful not to show the bottom reversed card, and we’ll find one card upside down in the deck, that’s called the reversed card.
