" Hi! Malik the magic guy with expertvillage.com. Now I want to show you a little bit about holding the deck. The basic way to hold the deck is basic dealer’s grip, and you’re going to cradle it in your hand, the key things are that your three fingers are along the side here, your thumb is along the side here and your first finger is blocking in at the end of the deck. Now you’re going to be using your thumb later on to push cards off to deal them…kinda thing. There’s another grip called biddle grip, which is kind of an over hand grip like this, later on you’ll be learning some tricks using the biddle grip, this is just an important thing to know, there’s other grips as well but a lot of them are variations on this and this is kind of a key position when you’re talking about holding playing cards. So just so you’ll see one more you want to cradle that in your hand, you want to have your fingers along the side, your first finger right here, thumb here just kind of gently held in your hand; you don’t want to hold too tight, you don’t want to squeeze them too tight. This would be an example of a left handed version, even though I’m right handed and that’s an example of how to hold the cards. "
