"MICHAEL PLUNKETT: Hello. This is Michael Plunkett on behalf of Expert Village. Before we close today, I wanted to talk a little bit about the benefits and drawbacks of using online sources to get guitar tabs. For most people nowadays, it's really one of the easiest and most common ways to find guitar tabs is to go on Google or find a guitar tabs site and look up songs from there. It can be a great tool. There are tons on there that can be easy to use, but at the same there can be some drawbacks to it. Most of these are just done by people like yourself probably who are sitting around, trying to learn a song by ear, and might type it up and post it online. Sometimes there can be mistakes in these and sometimes they can write something or maybe a passage that might be either easier or more difficult, but one way or another might be different than the way it was actually written in the song, and so it's important to be weary of this or cautious of this when you're looking at online sources. One way that it might differ, for instance, is--I draw an example of two ways that the same passage might be written. The first way, I'm using all one string to play it. So, it's a little bit easy on that sense. It would sound something like this, 1-0-1-3-5. Here on guitar, it's. Another way I could play the same set of notes on the guitar would be to move it up to the second string and to play 6-5-6-8-5. It would sound like this. They have a little bit of a different feel to them. Now, this is just a basic example but there are many cases where, for instance, a popular riff in a song might be written two different ways. So, the most important thing that you can do is look up multiple sources for any tab that you want to find, look on a few different sites and see if they differ or if they're the same, and when they do, you can figure out for yourself what's going to be the best one to use in the end."
