How to Play a 1st Inversion Piano Chord

"Hi, I'm Mike Lais and on behave of Expert Village this is Piano Chord Voices. So now that we got the root position, we are going to move on to the first inversion. Keep in mind in the version, Think of like flips if you are inverted you are upside down. Well, on inversion it is the same thing, it is the chord upside down. The first inversion we are just going to simply take right here your finger will be on; we will use the G chord just to stay consistent. We have G, B, D. If we are going to do first inversion, all I am going to do is take this note right here and I am going to put that on the top of the chord right here. So we are going to start off on the third which is B. Then we have our fifth which is D and then we have our root which is G and we are going to put that on top. That gives us the first inversion. It is just like that starting off on the third of the chord. So if here is the root position, here is the first inversion. Again that is third, fifth, and then the root. That will be your first inversion. "
