"MIKE LAIS: Hi. I'm Mike Lais and on behalf of Expert Village, this is diminished chord voicings. Okay, so we got the diminished 7th chord in its root position. Now, here is another way that you can voice it. We can do the 1st inversion of it where we're going to be starting on the 3rd of the chord. Let's take a look. We're going to be here, right? Remember our original. The root position of a diminished 7th is just like that, one, flat 3, flat 5, double flatted 7. So I'm going to just take this and move the root up to the top of the chord. So, we're going to go flat 3, flat 5, double flatted 7, and then put the root on top, alright? Now, this sets you up a lot. It sets you up good for doing like a VI-V-i in a minor key. So, here, if we're in the key E minor, we'd go, this is 6diminished, and then we're going to just drop this down, that's V, i, right? But we'll get to that a little bit later. So, we're just going to go flat 3, flat 5, double flat 7, and 1 for the diminished 7th chord in its 1st inversion."
