"Hi I'm Mario Amaya and on behalf of Expert Village and in this segment I'm going to talk to you about using the parado technique in flamenco guitar playing. Well parado simply means stop in Spanish and it involves stopping the sounding of the string using the little finger of the left hand. So if I play a chord like this and then I just continue holding down my fingers on the appropriate strings with the left hand, it just keeps ringing. Sometimes we want to stop that sound suddenly and we use the little finger, the left hand(playing guitars) and it produces a nice effect that is important in flamenco very rhythmical. Please see the next segment where I will talk about some exercises for the left hand in flamenco guitar playing."
