"Hi I'm Mario Amaya and on behalf of Expert Village and in this segment I like to talk to you about using the left hand to play scales in flamenco guitar playing. By scales I simply mean playing individual notes as oppose to chords. Well when we play scales in flamenco it's best to leave a finger down that you put that until you need to pick it up. For example if I play this chromatic scale you see all my 4 fingers on my left hand ended up on the string and they are still there and if I want to go back down. This is a good way to practice so that you can serve movement and you can practice this chromatic scale on all the strings or all the notes of the guitar using rest stroke with the thumb or Picado. Like this. (playing guitar) Or (playing guitar) Please see the next segment where I will talk about using slurs in flamenco guitar playing."
