"Hi I'm Mario Amaya and on behalf of Expert Village and I'm going to give you a brief overview of left hand guitar techniques for flamenco in this segment. Well you may notice in flamenco guitar playing we don't use the left hand thumb the way it is used in some styles of guitar playing. The thumb stays pretty much at the mid line of the neck over here unless you happen to have very long thumbs and it is okay for the thumb to be seen above the neck. We use the left hand for playing individual notes of scales like this And also for playing chords including bar chords and flamenco guitar music has a lot of slurs in it like. This is where we pull notes using the left hand or hammer on notes. And sometimes we also do slides like this and I go back and do slides.
