"Hi I'm Mario Amaya and on behalf of Expert Village in this segment I'm going to give you some exercise for developing some right hand flamenco guitar techniques. At the beginning when learning to use Picado you have to develop the habit of always alternating the index and middle finger. So a good exercise is to start on the 6th string and play a odd number of notes like 3 or a 5 notes and then move to the next string continuing to alternate the index and middle fingers and keeping doing that on all the strings. And notice when I do Picado my wrist is out a bit and my fingers come almost straight down onto the strings and my fingers are highly curved. This is important you are using all the muscles in the fingers if you curve the fingers. It helps you develop good habits if you do this without resting any other part of the hand on the guitar while you are doing Picado So your hand looks something like a cats claw scratching it is highly curved, you wrist is out a bit, and you are always alternating the index and middle fingers using the rest stroke. Please see the next segment where I will give you some exercises in arpeggios in flamenco guitar playing."
