" I am Matt Bodi with Up All Night Productions located in Miami, Florida. You can find us online at www.upallnightpro.com. Here I’m going to show you the software that we use. This is called Pro Tools and it’s a Pro Tools LE 7.1. It’s a great software. This is the mixer on screen. This is the track that we are currently working on right here. Now this track, this is the Timeline view; I guess you could call it the Timeline and this would be the mixer field. Now the mixer has many different tracks. For each track that we have the audio on, you do have a fader and you can link the faders together so that you can fade more than one fader at a time. The alternative to this is an actual mixing board which many studios also have. They both serve the same function. Now analog mixing boards are great to use, they are very expensive and they take up a lot of space. If you don’t have that, you can’t afford that or you don’t have the space for that, you can use right on the screen where you can do your mixes right here. Now within each one of these there is also an option for plug-ins. Now plug-ins are, this right here; this is a software based hardware, so this is, let’s say, a guitar amplifier, an effects processor, that you would use on screen rather than having the physical piece of equipment right here."
