" I am Matt Bodi with Up All Night Productions located in Miami, Florida. You can find us online at www.upallnightpro.com. Here I’m going to show you another very important part of our recording studio. This is the Digidesign 002 rack, made by Pro Tools and this is a patch bay. Now what each one of these do is very important. The patch bay takes the sounds from each different piece of equipment and we can patch it to any other piece of equipment. So for example we could take the sounds from the keyboard and bring it right into Pro Tools, right into back over here. We can also take the same sounds and put it into the mixer, which we have right here. Okay, so the patch bay as I was saying, you can take each sound and route it to different areas and this is great for functionality because you don’t have to always be back behind your equipment, pulling cables and you know fidgeting around back there, which I’m sure a lot of you still do; I used to do until I got the patch bay. So it’s a very great piece of equipment. The mixer helps you just to listen back to your sounds. This isn’t a mixing mixer; this is a mixer, just to listen, just to monitor the sounds back. So we have all these different sources that we can listen to at different times. "
