" Matt Bodi with Up All Night Productions located in Miami, Florida. You can find us online at www.upallnightpro.com. I’m going to show you here a microphone. This is a condenser microphone which is different from a dynamic microphone that you might use, say for performing out or you know just messing around. This is a special studio microphone; it has a specific dynamic range and it is very important to have a good microphone. That is probably the most important part of recording more than just about everything I would say is the microphone, because that’s what is actually going to capture the dynamic range of your voice. So you know a singer could come in here and if you have a not so good microphone, the voice is not going to sound so good. These are the headphones, so when you are recording you would actually listen the headphones, you would listen to the music through here, so that while you are recording you can hear the music, but it does not pickup in the microphone. That is very important because otherwise you get bleed through, which means you can hear the music into the microphone and that’s a problem later on for mixing. Now this microphone has what is called the popper stopper, right here, this is when you are rapping or singing or just talking, it… your ps’ and your s’ cuts down a little bit on the loudness of that sound.
