"MATT GRAHAM: Okay, this is a very important step in minimizing stretch in this method of restringing guitar that I think is the ultimate. So you're going to pull all the slack out of it, the string, and then we're going to measure. We're going to put our left hand on the nut right here at the headstock, and you're going to keep that string relatively slack-free. And then we're going to measure with three fingers. Two will probably give us enough slack to work with. But we're going to do three just to be safe and the reason I am keeping my finger on the nut down here is so that as I progressively install the strings that where the tuning posts are further and further up the headstock, I'm giving them consistent slack because it's the same distance from the bridge to nut. Then I'm creating where I put my finger down at the nut. And then again, just putting three fingers underneath at the 12th fret so that we're consistent with that too, and I should have the right amount of slack in my string."
