"Hey everybody my name is Matt and I'm speaking to you on behalf of Expert Village. Now I'm going to start teaching about some of the tools available in cubase. Up here you would see your tools box there is a lot of different tools right now I'm going to focus on the object selection tool. Object selection tools does a lot of different things right here I got a audio track with some audio a drum beat in it. With the object select tool you can do a lot of different things like I said if you click over here on there bottom right you can actually trim the selection. You can do that on either side of the audio. You can also this right here if you click in the blue box at the top in the middle of the track, if you drag that up and down that actually controls the volume of the track. Also there is a triangles in the top right or left in the track what this does you can create fade in and fade out in the right. And of course you can obviously pick up and move around your tracks with the object selection tool. If you go up here and hold down on the object selection tool you get a couple of more options. If you click on size and move contents when you go and try to trim the event instead of actually trimming it, it is actually going to slide the contents with the event. You can do that on either side as well. Also if you hold down and choose sizing apply time stretch when you go to trim it, it is actually going to change the timing of the event. So if I go ahead and play that it is just going to speed that up. You can also slow it down. "
