"Alright, now that we're done looking at those notes, we're going to take a look here at some different types that we've got. We've also got these here, which are eighth notes. And looking at these, we've got two lines, or again, two notes that are filled in, circled in, just as the quarter note was, but now what we've got, we've connected them with a bar at the top, and this will tell me that these are eighth notes. And each of these notes gets a half a count, its cut in half. So a quarter note gets one count. These get a half a count. So two of these equals one quarter note. Okay? And, as we move on, now we've got in the next bar here, we've got a half note which, the reason that I know this is a half note is because it's an unfilled circle with an actual stem on it. The half note will get two beats. Now, if we move on and we continue on in this line here, as we're looking at it, this here is a new symbol which we have not seen before. Now this is not a note. This is a rest. This will show me that I need to be able to stop right there, where all sound will cease for whatever time that may be. This here, this particular rest, this kind of squiggly looking line that we have here is a quarter rest, which gets one count. So there, for this one count in this measure, there will not be any notes played. And there are plenty of other types that we could, we can cover and we will try to get to soon. Let me see if I can find one here for you. Oh, here's another one over here. This here, if we're looking at this, where there's a whole measure that has one of these in it. This is a whole rest and this means that throughout the entire measure here, there will be no sound and the person playing this part will start in the second measure and actually start playing there."
