"We're talking today about basics of piano and so we're going to go ahead and talk about the seating and how you want to position yourself in order to get started. First, we're going to get this thing opened up here and get everything positioned. We're going to pull out the music stand here. We have that adjusted. Now what you want to do is you want to try and pull your bench out into a comfortable position. Just get it set. And you're going to sit down, open everything up. Now you want to try not to be too far away from the piano so that you can't reach or you're having to lean over to try to grasp it. You're going to want to have the bench close enough that you are able to have both feet on the floor. You're able to reach the pedals if necessary. Probably have your feet a shoulder width apart. You're going to want to sit up straight and make sure that your back is straight enough so that you can keep from hunching over or doing anything that's going to hinder your posture for your shoulders and your back, so that you're nice and comfortable and that your hands are able to reach the keys easily without being crunched in or too far away."
