"Matthew: Hi. We're here today learning how to play some improv warm-ups. And the game we're going to teach you guys now is "Rumors." For those of you that have been watching our video series, "Rumors" is very similar to "Yes, And..." in that the focus of the game is to agree with what's been said, and to add more information. To play "Rumors," you're going to have your group stand in a circle, and the focus is going to be passed around as you ask somebody else if they had heard about a specific rumor. At that point in time, the person who is asked is then going to reply, and heighten the information. Once they've heightened the information, they're then going to ask another player if they've heard about a new rumor until everybody has a chance to speak a rumor into existence. Watch Daniel and I play and I think you'll get the idea of how it works. Hey, Daniel, did you hear about the polar bear that ate a bunch of penguins at the zoo? Daniel: I did. I also heard that he broke free out of the bars and started eating all the ice cream out of the carts that were going by. Hey, did you hear about Paris Hilton? And the person standing next to me, "Oh, yeah, I did. She jumped out of a plane without a parachute." But we forgot to giggle. Matthew: Oh, that's right. After a rumor's been spoken into existence, the collective group is going to gasp and then giggle. Daniel: Hit me another. Matthew: Sure. Hey, Daniel, did you hear about that crazy guy who was driving the steam-rolling truck and ran over a little kid? Daniel: I did. I heard he got five to ten, but that he has his own TV in his jail cell and it gets SpongeBob 24/7. *Both gasp and giggle* That's how you play "Rumors.""
